This morning, we meet poet Kimberly McNeil... Kim This morning, we meet poet Kimberly McNeil...

Kimberly began writing poetry about the same time that she began dopamine therapy for her newly diagnosed Parkinson’s disease. She feels that dopamine shows great promise in treating mental health issues, particularly addiction. She is a retired naval officer and physician and resides in Southwest Florida with her husband of 34 years. She strives to write the truth, often times targeting stereotypes and hypocrisy. She lost her only child in 2018 just days before he was to begin college and has written extensively about his death.

Meet Ruth Happel! Ruth has enjoyed writing poetr Meet Ruth Happel!

Ruth has enjoyed writing poetry since the age of six. Once she realized it’s hard to make a living as a poet, she chose to study monkeys. After many years chasing an assortment of monkeys and apes through jungles, it was clear primatology is equally impractical and much muddier. She now enjoys writing poetry daily, and has replaced simians with shelties, an equally challenging animal to pursue. For over 20 years, her major form of poetry is haiku, enjoying its elegant simplicity.

Be sure to tune in Sunday at 6pm to hear Ruth's work, LIVE!
