Looking back on 2015, the Education Department has witnessed some challenges and growth-- including changes and transitions. The department serves both youth and adult programming. The Queer Media Project (QMP) was a great highlight of programming that empowered queer and allied youth to experience media creation and storytelling. In October, Adja Gildersleve joined MTN as the new Education Coordinator.
The Education Department has big aspirations for the new year. In the process of taking on the new position, Adja truly believes that community media is an important tool for residents to have access to share their voice in a powerful way. As the Education Coordinator, Adja plans to bring fresh and innovative energy to the organization as a whole. Members can look forward to a diversity in the type of classes offered, diverse instructors, and gradual equipment updates. 2016 has a lot to offer-- let's take it in and make it awesome!
2015 was an exciting year for Programming. We now have Video On Demand! Check it out here: http://mtn.org/vod If you are a Premier member at MTN we automatically put your shows on VOD. And we started an archiving station for our MTN footage from 1984 - the present.
In 2016, we encourage members to check out our file submission page. no need to create a DVD just send the files from your computer. http://mtn.org/on_air/channel-time-request-form Look forward to seeing your new shows on MTN this year!
I'm proud that the production department braved the rain and filmed the NE Parade in 2015.
When I say the production department-I mean all of our great MTN staffers and our awesome interns.
What I'm looking forward is getting to know our new community--NE Minneapolis for 2016. Can't wait to get to know are new neighbors.
