Watch MTN Access to Art Episode Fourteen--May 2008
Hosted by local artist Tom Cassidy at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church.
Segment One: anti-civ Records, a new music collective, has created a community of support for 19 local bands. Members pool resources, network and book live performances. Access to Art Correspondent Laura Stopyro attended a show at the collective's new space.
Also--at the Spirit in the House theater festival, Access to Art Host Tom Cassidy talks with Dean Seal, Artistic Director of Spirit in the House.
Segment Two: Non-commercial Jazz radio station KBEM which operates out of North High School has been training students in broadcasting since the 1960s. Access to Art Correspondent Hamil Griffin-Cassidy recently visited the station and talked to staff and students. Ashley Siebels edited this piece.

Segment Three: Project Opera, a program of the Minnesota Opera, teaches young people from grades 4 through high school the fundamentals of operatic singing and performance. Their high school-aged ensemble puts on a fully staged opera every spring. Access to Art Correspondent Beth Peloff attended a rehearsal and performance of the Nightingale, their current production.

Segment Four: For fourteen years Cave Paper has been hand-making fine archival papers used all over the world by artists & bookbinders. Correspondent Laura Stopyro descended into the damp, cold depths of the warehouse district to meet with owners Bridget O,Malley and Amanda Degener.
