This issue we have selected the Milkweed Editions site for dual reasons, an aesthetically pleasing layout along with creative utilization of the Internet in advancing their mission. Upon first arrival at the site you see a wonderfully animated milkweed plant grow to full maturity and gracefully release its pods off into cyberspace. We then move to the homepage where the mission of Milkweed Editions reads, "Milkweed Editions is an award-winning, nonprofit literary publisher of high-quality books that places an emphasis on cultural diversity, environmental stewardship, exceptionally crafted poetry, and insightful literature for adults and children in the middle grades".

Milkweed's Home Page is well organized and easy to maneuver. They offer a link to reading and teaching guides, "To make our books even more valuable for teaching and more enjoyable for reading discussion groups, we're pleased to offer the following guides and materials, free of charge." These materials are available for downloading via Adobe Acrobat, if you do not have Adobe Acrobat they provide you with the link and it too is free. The Milkweed site offers a wealth of information about their organization, the books they sell, where to buy them, the authors who write them and when and where to go to hear an author read.
