Many of the regular certified members of MTN are actively producing series programs for our channels. Many others might make one single or "stand alone" program and then jump to another creative television endeavor. New members taking classes come in with ideas they are excited to begin or test out.
Collaborations are spawned through new friendships and shared interests. I often say “Network” is our last name because members make connections here through the act of "networking." You can best take advantage of our facility by asking staff for suggestions of potential collaborations with people of similar interests or in need of assistance. Our classes, bulletin boards, bimonthly members' screenings and general volunteering on studio or field shoots provide valuable associations with other producers. It’s rewarding to see people advance in their own production skills while producing programs for the community channels.

citizens of all types how to bring to life, and to the small screen, their own ideas. MTN helps people to communicate themselves to others, to share with their neighbors, other friends and strangers. I try to encourage any ideas that may lead to new types of programming for the channels. It is in fact a requirement that all people who use our facilities turn their productions in for cablecast. And why not? Why not give others a chance to watch the program you spent so much time putting together?
That's what I call community television - a very different spectrum of televised activity. Reality plus television!! Two women knit together, and decide to present a slice of real life called "Just Knitting." A young man skateboards, then compiles an action show on skateboarding featuring a soundtrack of the music he listens to. A theater group creates an original play, has a small space, and can't possibly get seen by everyone in town; why not extend the run by putting it on MTN? Dramatization of issues - life’s comic situations - a personal dietary or planetary vision. A juggler takes a class to showcase a skill, a musician shows off a specialty not covered on other channels, whatever it may be. Outreach. Visibility! Innovation. Creativity! It all sounds good to me. Whatever you are interested in could become a video or television show on MTN. And that could just be the beginning!
