Now more than ever we need to celebrate Community Television and in particular MTN's 20th year! Please mark your calendars for our April 11th party, details are included in this newsletter. We look forward to celebrating with all of you!
At our March Board Meeting, Time Warner Cable reported that their subscriber base had grown by 174 households in the last month! This is good news for MTN as our funding comes through the franchise and access fees that Time Warner charges its customers. I would encourage you to look into subscribing to Time Warner. Ask about the basic rate. They do not advertise the basic rate, but it is available and offers you the public access channels along with other channels for about $13.00 per month. It is a great

time to seek out alternative voices on MTN channels 16,17 and 75.
I don't know about you but it's been a hard winter for me. Lately it feels like everywhere you look a trusted public entity is being eliminated or downgraded by budget cuts. Add to that a war with Iraq and it all comes together as very scary times. I just want to encourage you NOT to put your head in the sand, or get stuck on the ticker-tape screens of CNN or Fox News Network. Get off the couch and come down and make your own television.
We need to hear from you! Making television is good for you - it's creative, involves interacting with other people and it's an opportunity to be heard. So just say YES to the project that is floating around in your head, or say YES to that final edit on the project you shot last summer. We're waiting for you!
