Retiring MTN Board Members Tomas Gonda and Julie Wallace were recognized for their years of service to the MTN Board at the January meeting. Both have served on the MTN Board since 1995.

Gonda, a teacher, was involved in developing MTN's Youth Training programs. Wallace, a librarian, was involved in MTN's internet department and the development of its web site. Gonda and Wallace's terms as MTN Board Members ended with the January meeting.

The City Council and the Mayor select the members of the MTN Board. Two new board members will begin their terms in February. The MTN Board meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at MTN.

Mark your calendars for the Midwest Alliance for Community Media Conference on February 27th and 28th at the Hamline Conference Center in St. Paul. Registration information is included in this MTN Monitor and on the MTN website: www.mtn.org. All seminars are designed with community producers in mind.

I realize that your schedule is full, but I urge you to
consider making this conference a priority. I have found that sharing information with those doing similar work is a great way to stimulate new ideas and to increase your networking in the community. There is nothing easy about television production, but finding support from others doing similar work is helpful.  Check it out!
