Video Voices Documentaries 2008 show 6

MTN has been a partner with Minneapolis South High since 1987 in the Voices program. Voices is a social studies class at South, but a vital part of that class is the partnership with MTN. MTN trains students in the Voices class in camera and editing, and the students make documentaries and PSA's on important social issues.

VOICES stands for Values, Options, Issues and ChoicEs in Society.

Here are this year's student produced documentary projects. Show 6 includes documentaries on bicycling and mass transit.

Show 6 Segment 1- Bicycling

South High students Emily Townswick, Rose Spieler-Sandberg, Lora Pedersen, Claire Richards, Betsy Barta, Brent Hutchinson and Hoan Ngo produced this fun and informative look at bike culture in Minneapolis, interviewing bicyclists and exploring issues like the popular Citical Mass rides. They made the video with help from the Minneapolis Television Network (MTN) through the Voices program.

Show 6 Segment 2 - Public Transit

South High students Rebecca Hornstein, Cecylia Huston, Daisen Katagiri, Elsabet Roth and Rebecca Shelton explore the importance and challenges facing the public transit system in the Twin Cities. They made the video with help from the Minneapolis Television Network (MTN) through the Voices program.
