Video Voices Documentaries 2008 show 2

MTN has been a partner with Minneapolis South High since 1987 in the Voices program. Voices is a social studies class at South, but a vital part of that class is the partnership with MTN. MTN trains students in the Voices class in camera and editing, and the students make documentaries and PSA's on important social issues.

VOICES stands for Values, Options, Issues and ChoicEs in Society.

Here are this year's student produced documentary projects. Show 2 includes documentaries on water pollution and 3M, and the music scene in the Twin Cities.

Show 2 Segment 1- 3M

South High students Max Stearns, John Lawless, Nelson Iginla, Hoang Truong, Aiden Orchard-Dick, Joe Pnewski and Roscoe Bendtsen interviewed community activists as well as a 3M spokesperson to look at water pollution caused by 3M chemicals. They made the video with the help of the Minneapolis Television Network (MTN) through the Voices program.

Show 2 Segment 2 - Let's Move to Minneapolis and Start a Band

South High students Lisi Becker, Elin Fahrner, Grete Grodahl, and Nora Wynn interviewed musicians from a wide age range to make a slice of the Minneapolis music scene. They made the video with help from the Minneapolis Television Network (MTN) through the Voices program.
