Minneapolis Neighborhood News is a production of the Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program and MTN. In this show, titled "Green," we take a look at Earth Day Clean Up event in the East Calhoun Neighborhood, three houses that were featured in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Home Tour that featured interesting green ideas, the Linden Hills Waterkeeper program kickoff, and the Bottineau Neighborhood's Green Gala.

Segment One: East Calhoun Earth Day Clean Up

The East Calhoun Neighborhood organizes an Earth Day Clean Up event on the shores of Lake Calhoun in cooperation with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.

Segment two: Home Tour - Windom Park Neighborhood

A visit to the first LEED certified residential house in Minneapolis, in the Windom Park Neighborhood.

Segment three: Home Tour - SE Como Neighborhood

This is a visit to a home in the Southeast Como Neighborhood during the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Home Tour. A solar hot water heater was installed through a neighborhood program.

Segment four: Home Tour - Ericsson Neighborhood

A visit to a home in the Ericsson Neighborhood during the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Home Tour. This home was renovated according to the guidelines of the Minnesota Greenstar program.

Segment five: Linden Hills Waterkeepers

The Linden Hills Neighborhood held a meeting to kick off their Waterkeepers Program, to raise awareness in the neighborhood about the importance of treating storm water on your property to increase the quality of water in the city's lakes and rivers.

Segment six: Green Gala

The Green Gala is a project of the Bottineau Neighborhood Association. It is a fundraiser that raises awareness of the importance of sustainable fabrics and reused fashions.

Minneapolis Neighborhood News can be seen on cable in the city of Minneapolis on MTN 16 on Sundays at 5 p.m., on MTN 17 on Fridays at 6:30 p.m.
